More Carnaval

The preschoolers were the only ones who celebrated Carnaval...

...but they sure had fun! Okay, at least our resident clown did.

He definitely wins the award for cutest of the day! What a character :)

Día de Andalucía celebration in Rioja

Día de Andalucía celebration at school...

9:00: Hymn of Andalucía was played

9:00-11:00: "Class"...I'm convinced no one really did anything

11:30: Bocadillos de tomate, aceite de oliva, y jamón serrano (tomato, olive oil, and serrano ham sandwiches) for all the kids and teachers...a gift from PTA (here they're called AMPA--Asociación de Madres y Padres de Alumnos)

12:00-2:00: Games, facepaiting, dancing, etc on the playground

It was a good day :)

Carnaval in Rioja!

Tinkerbell & Minnie Mouse
Adorable!

The people of Almería take any chance they can to celebrate and have parties. Carnaval, the Spanish version of Mardi Gras, in correspondence with the church calendar ends on Ash Wednesday. Not to worry, Spaniards keep celebrating til Friday!
